Passkeys are deemed to be more secure than other methods of authentication such as passwords or OTPs (One Time Passwords) as they are resistant to online attacks such as phishing.

Passkeys use device locking mechanisms (e.g. face recognition, fingerprint, PIN) to unlock a service, therefore, only a genuine customer should be able to authenticate and sign-in to the service.
